Many unique features are incorporated. Pot placing has been simplified by the design.  This is especially useful when the pot has been fired. This operation can be quite difficult normally because the pot and kiln are at red heat. Taking a pot from a top loading raku kiln means using the tongs at or near vertical. it also means looking down into this heat.  Our thereby obviates this by making the body lift off the base. This makes placing and removing pots extremely easy. The tongs can be used horizontally and the pot gripped at the base. It also means that much of the heat is retained in the top, giving more efficient use of gas. The kiln is fitted with ventilated handles which remain cool, even when the kiln is at top temperature. 

The flame enters the kiln tangentially, which means the flame travels around the kiln wall, instead of directly on the pot(s), thereby reducing thermal shock to the ware.

The burner is fitted with push button ignition (no electricity required) for easy lighting and flame failure protection is included. The Kilns are available for natural or bottled gas.

Bottled gas versions come with gas pipe and regulator, ready for connection to a small gas bottle. A floor bat and damper is thermocouple is provided.
